Have you ever been tethered and forced to stand in 40 degree heat wearing a hard edged saddle, humped 2 people up a 25% slope for 5km to earn your hay or been left to rot in an abandoned industrial field with nothing more than a few nettle beds and sunken turf to chew on?
No. Me neither.
The Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary leads a global project to provide safe havens for these brilliant animals.
It is exactly 100 miles from Sandbanks ferry to the Sanctuary via the South West Coast path. The route I have planned and prepared to tackle for 2 years. It will accumulate 15,000ft ascent and the goal is to complete the distance in 24 hours. I will be wearing a GPS tracker on the day so the route taken is official and you can support the progress.
Doug Noble has agreed to crew at designated checkpoints. 🙏💪
Jayne sims will join me for the final 20 miles.🏃♀️🏃♂️😍
