Story

Darcie’s Story

In May 2010 our daughter Darcie Helena Sivewright was born 16 weeks early and lived for only 3 days in James Cook Hospital's Neonatal unit.  So touched were we by the superb work within the unit we felt compelled to improve the waiting room facilities for other parents in the same situation.

For the new seating nearly £4000 was needed.  Ian & Adam Bates completed a 63 mile bike ride around the Tees Valley Jobcentres, a fund raising evening was held in South Bank & the owners of www.babyandbump.com even did a skydive.  When all this was done the target was smashed & new seating was put in the waiting room.

However we would still like to continue contributing to the unit so Ian's taking part in this year's Great North Run (half marathon) & we've upped the target a bit too ;-)
