Hackney Half Marathon 2022 · 22 May 2022 ·

The Australian Suicide Prevention Foundation, Hold on to Life, is a nationwide, donation driven organisation focused on providing support for those suffering emotional pain and thinking suicidal thoughts. Our basic message is “you'd never tell a friend to die; tell yourself what you’d tell a friend”

Story

3 out of 4 suicides in the UK are Men - from the Samaritans report they’ve worked out that on average there is a suicide occurring every 2 hours…

Also, each year over 40,000 men on average are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer - it is the MOST common form of cancer in the UK ❌

Scawy Scawy numbers if you ask me 😔 - loads of these crazy stats are what I came across after Mental Health Awareness week last week.

In Melbourne, Australia where my brother Ethan Siaosi Sosene grew up in the South Eastern suburbs - he played for Glen Waverley rugby league club - also where my brother Tini and father Skia played over the last 2 decades.

This club and the league they play in has been plagued with death from young bright men taking their own lives - 🏉 Suicide and the grief it leaves behind is awful 😣

It is what took my bros life, his best friend before him Hayden Butler - and other players from rival clubs in the area.

It was not really OK to talk out loud about mental health issues and depression - these days we know better. #ItAintWeakToSpeak 💪🏽🦹🏽‍♂️💯
