My beautiful son, George, was born on 14th October 2014, yet this was the moment he also passed away. The impact of little George's death on my family has been profound; for Georgina, Henry and I life changing.

The pain of such a traumatic loss never disappears and with a year passed, learning to cope remains a gradual process with many unseen hurdles to negotiate. In a very small way, I hope to not only promote the excellent work of the charity Sands, but also get people talking about a deeply sensitive subject. With approximately 15 babies dying each day in the UK and having experienced the acute trauma suffered by parents, more can certainly be done to help.

Last year I pledged to undertake an annual challenge in memory of George. We raised over £6,000 in 2015, which surpassed all our expectations. However, running 25km did take its toll and so a long stroll nonstop from London to Cambridge somehow seems more appealing! We have received so much amazing and unconditional support, for which we will always be eternally grateful.
