Cycle 4 Leukemia - Lands End to John o'Groats

Lands End to John o'Groats · 28 July 2023
Jacques was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia in January 2022. He has recovered well and wants to help find a cure for Leukaemia. A team of 10 including 8 cyclists and 2 support staff will be taking part in the LEJOG cycle challenge. A ride of over 1000 miles that will take the team from the tip of Cornwall to the very top of the Scottish mainland, John o'Groats. They are aiming to complete the cycle in 10 days.
Meet the team! Jacques will be joined by both his older brothers on LEJOG. Marc, the middle brother, recently completing the London Marathon will have no issue with this endurance event. Gerard, the eldest, and the most experienced cyclist has previously joined the "Tour De Sez" cycling across parts of Europe. Ramon Gacio joins the team with a wealth of cycling experience most recently cycling solo through France and parts of Spain. Richard Perrio will be warming up for LEJOG on his ski's but has ample fitness to complete this challenge with his rowing experience. Chris Mauger, also Guernsey born, and Jordan Williams are both based in Dubai and have been by Jacques side on every training session. Lastly, the most important part of our team- the lovely ladies driving the van. They will be picking up the pieces, paving the way and keeping the boys in check! Dawn Thomas will be on hand as a physiotherapist incase of any injuries and will most certainly bring the grit and determination after making Everest base camp last year. Sarah Griffith (MBE) needs no introduction with her charity work over the last few decades. Founding Bridge 2 to help respond to natural disasters. Sarah brings her experience with the charity, fundraising and fun!
