Mind - The Mental Health Charity

We’re Mind, the mental health charity. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Today. Now. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support and advice, and fight your corner.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our team challenge page.

Our team of 11 (9 Challengers and 2 support team) will be embarking on a 7 day challenge (22 May - 28 May) travelling from Inverness to Scafell Pike using 4 physical disciplines.

4Ps:
Paddling: 60 miles (3 days - upstream on Glencoe Canoe Trail)
Peak: Ben Nevis (1,345m) / Scafell Pike (978m)
Pedal: 237 miles (3 days)
Plunge: 1 or 2 mile open water swim

We have decided to embark on this challenge to raise money to raise awareness of mental health, and support Mind. Mind, provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Importantly they campaign to improve services, and promote understanding. They won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect, and we won't give up on our physical challenge to help them achieve this vision.

It is staggering that in 2019 we struggle to talk about something that will affect 1 in 4 of us in the UK. It is prevalent and very very real. The team all want to help play a part in removing the stigma of fear and misunderstanding, and we are not afraid to have the difficult conversations.

Each member of the team has either personal experience of mental health issues or has supported family/friends that are living with a mental health condition.

If you could support us in any way, we would be so very grateful. We will be posting progress updates and team member profiles over the coming days and weeks.

Thank you so much for standing with us.
