Someone is diagnosed with blood cancer in the UK every 20 minutes, and many will need a blood stem cell transplant for a second chance at life. We are committed to increasing the number of potential blood stem cell donors in the UK, so that there is a donor for everyone who needs one.

Story

On 22 December this year it will be two years since my amazing and irreplaceable dad, Ted very suddenly lost his life to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Just over 20 months ago I committed to do the Hackney Half in his memory for DKMS, which aims to provide blood cancer patients with a second chance at life (please visit https://www.dkms.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-donor to become a donor). After two postponements and a knee injury I have just run the Hackney Half in 02:30:49. I'm so grateful for your donation to this important cause.

Thank you,

Claire x
