Donations instead of 2021 Four Villages Half Marathon · 10 January 2021

We’re your local hospice, supporting people with life-limiting illness across Cheshire West and Deeside. Our care is free, but only possible thanks to your support. We’re not part of the NHS and rely on local generosity to keep going. By donating, you ensure vital care lives on in your community.

Story

Dear Runners

As many of you will know the majority of running events have had to be cancelled this year, unfortunately, the 2021 Essar Four Villages race has fallen victim to the pandemic too.

You will also be aware that, as well as giving the running community a great race, one of our key objectives is raising money for our local hospices (Halton Haven Hospice and Hospice of the Good Shepherd). Whilst Covid 19 curtails our ability to race, it does not reduce the need for the hospices to raise money.

So, we thought that, on the intended date of the 2021 race, it would be valuable to set up Just Giving pages for these hospices.

Helsby Running Club has donated £1,000 from our own funds (£500 for each hospice) and we are asking the running community to consider using some of the race fees they are saving to help out the Hospices.

We appreciate the fact that the pandemic is causing a lot of hardship for individuals too, so if you are not in a position to donate we quite understand but if you are able to that would be fantastic

Look forward to seeing you all in January 2022
