Story
Last year we lost our friend, Chris Woodfield, to cancer. We had the pleasure of knowing Chris from the first week we started University and have enjoyed his many qualities over the past two decades. He
was a smart, funny, humble and generous man who seemed to be able to excel at almost everything he put his mind to, especially in the fields of engineering, sport and Jager bomb drinking.
We have decided that we would like to honor our friend and also raise a few ££'s for charity and as such have undertaken to compete in the Man vs Coast Challenge - a 22(+) mile race consisting of hilly terrain from Marazion to Lands End (and parts which will involve swimming in the sea where the costal path stops). As Dan said on our first training run, "we may well have written a cheque our bodies can't cash", but rest assured we will give this event our all and we will share the stories with you once finished.
Throughout his illness Chris inspired many people with his determination to live his life to the absolute fullest. Be that cross-country skiing in Switzerland, seeing the Northern Lights in Lapland or just spending time with his family and many friends Chris was committed to making the most of what life had to offer. But even with his boundless positivity none of this would have been possible without the brilliant, often pioneering, medical care that Chris received. It is for this reason that we have chosen to support BRIGHT, a fantastic charity dedicated to finding even better treatments for gastro-intestinal cancer in the hope that other patients like Chris can benefit from their work.
We would be delighted if you could join us in supporting BRIGHT. Please be assured that every penny of sponsorship will not only go to this fantastic cause but will also provide us with added motivation on race day.
