WE DID IT - it was not pleasant, but neither is sleeping on the floor with just a blanket.... A family First Days helped just last week had 5 children sleeping on the floor with a blanket and no bed. With the help of First Days they all now each have a bed, mattress, duvet, pillows & linen 🥰
As Fundraising and Events Manager for First Days Children's Charity it has been eye opening to see and learn about the number children living in the local area who don't have warm beds, winter coats and parents/carers who are struggling to meet the demands of the rising costs of fuel.
I don't like being cold, but I am lucky and have choices about how I can get warmer...
I am challenging myself along with the founder of First Days Children's Charity, Emma Cantrell and avid supporter, Susie Rees to take a 5 minute 30 second plunge at Caversham Lakes on Sunday 27 February where the water will between 5 and 6 degrees!!
No wetsuits allowed!
