Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the 55km  between Boston and Lincoln Fire Stations on the 1st of September 2017 in memory of my Father who gave his life whilst on duty, it will be the 33rd anniversary of his ultimate sacrifice. I would like to raise £1000 for The Fire Fighters Charity, a charity that helped our family through this difficult time, hopefully with your generosity I can attain this target.

I am not a natural runner, short legged and long bodied! Which is why I chose this activity, I didn't want to do something that came naturally, I wanted it to be a challenge (a small challenge compared to the challenges facing all emergency services). The route itself will mainly follow the cycle route along the river Witham and I aim to complete it within 6hrs.

I have been training since January and have just passed the 30km training milestone, the run feels definitely achievable, even though I know it will be hard! I will be regularly putting training updates on the facebook page (@55kmCharityRun).
