Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Born from a seed sowed by a friend , the concept is not original , but from a passing conversation , together with a purpose , the 56 Not Out Challenge was born.
The number of people living on the streets in our towns and cities is on the increase and I cannot sit back and do nothing.
I am 56 years old this year, not a significant birthday , but the need is now. So as I enter my 56th year on the 30th May
2017 the challenge will start. 56 challenges before I turn 57. Not all of the challenges are physical, some will test my powers of persuasion, some my nerve , others will challenge my sanity. To see fair play and keep me on the straight and narrow, my wife
Julie will be manning “basecamp” and sharing the journey with me.
I plan to keep my supporters up to date using a blog and social media and engaging help and support for some of the challenges , although for many, unfortunately I will be on my own.

My aim is to raise awareness of the issue and what we can do to help , along with raising some much needed funds for the local charity Helping Hands and national charity Shelter.
