Story
When completing my DofE Bronze award I realised what a great opportunity it was and I think it’s an opportunity that everyone should be given, therefore I took part in an assembly in school to tell others about DofE and after the assembly almost fifty more people signed up to complete the award. This encouraged me because it made me realise that I had inspired others and that’s why this challenge interested me. In my Bronze award I took part in the local 5K ParkRun every Saturday for my Physical activity. I really enjoyed it and the challenge to keep improving, I even ended up completing a Sprint Triathlon, something I would never have dreamt of doing before DofE. So for the DofE Challenge 2019, I thought I would try and challenge myself even more and try to run 5K every day in September in an attempt to inspire even more people to take a challenge.
I believe The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an opportunity that everyone should have and that's what this challenge is all about. £60.00 can help to provide equipment, transport and materials to a young person wanting to complete the DofE but is held back by financial hardship.
