Story
Ferbane Paralympic Team (pictured above) will be" attempting" a 5km run/walk/hobble in aid of Jigsaw on the 19th of December.
The team consisting of Colin Kenny and Dave Kelly will be attempting the feat in our respective disciplines. DK will be hopping/walking the 5k, with the aid of crutches, with the main goal of completing the course without the need for another shoulder surgery and ACL reconstruction, while CK will be running the 5k, with the aid of a defibrillator, with the main goal of not having a heart attack.
Jigsaw is a charity which works with young people from 12-25, offering advice, support and a listening ear. They also work with parents, teachers and those who work with young people's mental health giving them ways to cope and the skills to be there for young people.
We chose this charity as we feel that mental health is something that a lot of young people struggle with at some point, and with an office in Tullamore, we hope it can be of benefit to a young person, parent or teacher who we may know in some shape or form.
