A second wave of the coronavirus pandemic is sweeping across India, with a devastating impact on peoples lives. Our incredibly dedicated team in India is working around the clock with local authorities to support the COVID response.

Story

In January, I ran 100km for 1625 Independent People with the aim of raising £1000 to help them support the 85,000 young people who are at risk of becoming, or already are, homeless each year.

Since then, India has experienced a relentless onslaught of increasing COVID-19 cases and fatalities. Hospitals are overwhelmed and are running out of oxygen, intensive care units are almost completely full, and people are being turned away from emergency rooms due to a lack of beds. With healthcare systems under enormous strain, a huge humanitarian crisis is unfolding.

As we smashed January's target, I've decided to increase my distance and fundraising goal to raise funds to help CARE UK's incredibly dedicated team in India. They are already working around the clock with local authorities to support the COVID response. You can read more about this here: https://www.careinternational.org.uk/India-COVID-crisis

As I said last time, it’s scientifically proven that there’s a direct correlation between your happiness and the amount you spend on others or donate to charity, so the more you give...

Together, we can help stop a COVID-19 catastrophe but we need to act fast.
