Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are Josh and Ahisha from The Health & Fitness Heroes and we have decided to run a 5k inflatable obstacle course in honour of Sherma Batson (Ahishas mum), who suddenly passed away in 2017 from a brain aneurysm.
We will raising money for Headway Hertfordshire which is a charity that helps survivors of brain trauma and injuries.
Sherma was a pillar of the community and is missed by her home town Stevenage where she had been the towns first black female Mayor. She worked tirelessly to help others and in her short 59 years has raised over £250,000 for various charitable courses. She caught the eye of the queen and was awarded an MBE for her good work. In passing she then was awarded the prestigious honour of becoming a Town Freeman.
She is missed everyday by all who knew her, especially her family and wonderful Husband, Howard.
While many people sadly pass away from aneurysms every year, there are also the people who survive but have to rebuild their lives again. Some are left with debilitating after effects.
If Sherma had survived her aneurysm, we would of needed to heavily rely on Headway for her recovery and care.
