The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

My name is Catherine Morton (nee Legget) and this is the story of my battle with cancer.

In January this year, Iain and I competed in Inferno Ski Downhill Race, for the first time ever. 1850 competitors set off at 12 second intervals, skiing as fast as they can from the top of the Schilthorn approx. 3000m, down 15km to Lauterbrunnen (800m) in the bottom of the valley. We reached speeds of 70+mph!  Our three children, Heather 29, Hamish 27 and Susie 23 have decided to join us in January 2020. We are participating in the 6km cross-country ski race, Giant Slalom and the Downhill triathlon, racing for Kandahar Ski Club.

After my diagnosis in September, I started treatment for metastatic melanoma and will continue for two years receiving immunotherapy locally at the Macmillan Suite in Inverness. So we decided to put our efforts towards fundraising for Macmillan Highlands.

We hope that you will support us generously in our endeavours.
The snow has arrived here in the Highlands and the training continues.
