Story

Before I had my first child I met Liz, we met at a pre-natal yoga class and were expecting our first babies.  We had our girls within a couple of weeks of each other, and they went on to spend those early months together.

As time went on, Liz became concerned that Jessica wasn't developing as she should, and she began a series of long invasive tests.  The results were devastating as they showed Jessica had Rett Syndrome.   Jess wont walk, talk, feed herself or do any of the things you inherently expect your child to do.  Jess doesn't sleep, has a feeding tube and suffers terribly from seizures.  Remarkably through all of this is, Jessica remains happy, always smiling, laughing, and appears happy in getting on with life.

The good news here is that current research suggests Rett Syndrome can be reversed.  Reverse Rett are a charity that support current research and clinical trials, and the translation of this work into clinical applications of people with Rett Syndrome.

Please sponsor me for this worthy cause.  It's a little hard work a day for 50 days, and think of Jess, who won't get to walk, run, swim or cycle and do all those things that I complain about.
