Welcome to our fundraising page for the
VIRGIN MONEY LONDON MARATHON 2017
No 600 (City of London) Squadron of the Royal Air Force Reserves (600SQN) is the oldest RAF Reserve Squadron in the UK. It was formed in 1925 and has a rich prestigious past with many battle honours which include the Battle of Britain in 1940.
600SQN continues to make history by raising money for good causes and the total amount raised to-date can be found using the hyperlink below:
The Virgin Money London Marathon 2017 is another event where 600SQN continues with its charity fundraising activities and on this occasion is raising money for SSAFA: The Armed Forces Charity.

OUR EVENT -
The Virgin Money London Marathon 2017
The London Marathon, presently known through sponsorship as the Virgin Money London Marathon (VMLM), is part of the World Marathon Majors (Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York City and Tokyo) and is regarded as one of the best, if not THE best marathon event in the world.
600SQN, the City of London Squadron, are immensely proud to be taking part in this prestigious event in our City, London.

OUR CHARITY -
SSAFA: the Armed Forces charity
SSAFA, formally known as Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, is the UK's oldest national tri-service Armed Forces charity being formed in 1885 as the Soldiers' and Sailors' Families Association. It provides welfare support to personnel of the Royal Navy, British Army, and the Royal Air Force.

THE 600 SQUADRON LONDON MARATHON TEAM 2017

The team have ran hundreds of miles in training and completed 182 event miles during the Marathon.

OUR MISSION
The 600SQN LONDON MARATHON TEAM 2017 will be using the VMLM to maintain their levels of fitness for the Royal Air Force Fitness Test, and raise much needed money for SSAFA.
The team has two ballot places and six SSAFA charity places (6 x £1,800.00 = £10,800.00), which is why our fundraising total is, and has been rounded up to, £11,000.00.
Therefore, our MISSION is to take part in the VMLM to meet and exceed our fundraising obligations to SSAFA.

OUR FUNDRAISING - Donations
If you wish to make a donation to support the 600SQN LONDON MARATHON TEAM 2017 in aid of SSAFA, there are three options to choose from: -

OUR FUNDRAISING - Bucket Collections
To supplement our ON LINE donations on this page, the team will be holding a number of Bucket Collections at London Rail Stations, taking place on: -
Saturday 10 December 2016: a total of £683.09 from London Bridge Station.
Monday 12 December 2016: a total of £2,056.89 from Paddington Station.
Monday 20 February 2017: a total of £2,610.21 from Cannon Street £498.95, London Bridge £1,166.20 and Paddington £945.06
Monday 10 April 2017: a total of £2,482.51 from Charing Cross £416.14, Kings Cross £1,131.57 and Paddington £934.80
Monday 24 April 2017 (the day after the London Marathon): a total of £1,559.80 from London Waterloo, on the day after the London Marathon.
The money raised at these Bucket Collections will be included on this page as Offline Donations and announced as an Update after the money has been deposited into the bank account of SSAFA.
The total raised from Bucket Collections at London Rail Stations is: - £9,392.50
