Starting on Saturday, January 11th Seth and Dain will be walking 7 marathons in 7 days (182 miles). We are starting at Lands’ End (the UK’s most westerly point) and trekking eastward along the South West Coastal path to Plymouth.
Why? Dain and I have quit drinking for 100 days and we need something to do.
Those of you familiar with us know that we try and do a challenge each year. In 2019 we paddled the length of the Thames, from source to sea (222miles) and raised £11,600 for Charity for Kids. In 2018 we trekked 191 miles, from St. Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay following Wainwright’s Coast-to-Coast Path and raised £8,800 for the Hastings Sierra Leone Friendship Link.
This year we have chosen a fantastic charity that is close to our home. Seaview is an open access wellbeing center that offers help and inspiration for people living on society’s margins in Hastings and St Leonards.
Seth has spent some time at the Seaview project and was inspired by the help offered to those less fortunate than ourselves. Homeless people not only have a place to eat, shower, wash clothes and relax in a safe environment, but are also offered extensive help to find a permanent residence and ultimately find a job and reintegrate into society. The team offers a residential address to use and also assist with the day-to-day admin that some struggle with.
We fund our trips ourselves and 100% of funds raised go to our chosen charity. Please be generous - it genuinely makes a huge difference.
Thank you,
Seth & Dain
