72 Hole Charity Golf Challenge · 14 June 2019

RWoB was set up in 2003 by a group of refugee women. They identified a number of common challenges in settling in to their new life in the UK regardless of where they came from. RWoB is directly governed by women of the refugee and asylum seeking community in Bristol.

Story

This June, Pete, Will, Philip and myself (Geraint) will be battling the slopes of Bristol in a 72 hole charity golf challenge. The challenge will be to play 72 holes across four different golf courses in Bristol, in one mammoth day of golf. We're raising money for the amazing charity, Refugee Women of Bristol. For more info on the incredible work they do, please visit their website at http://www.refugeewomenofbristol.org.uk/.

Your first impression may be that playing golf doesn’t sound like hard work, but I can ensure you playing 4 rounds of golf with myself will drive anyone to insanity. The 20 mile+ slog will be a 5.30am start, involve approximately 14 hours of walking, plenty of hacking, and almost definitely more tears than birdies. Rest assured, the amazing impact the money will have on RWoB will make it all worthwhile.

Note - All funds raised will go directly to the Charity; additional costs and expenses are being self covered.
