Hi, we are Alexander Chepurko and Anna Baranovskaya, known as #TeamSilkRider. You are seeing this page because we care. About children, about making a world a better place, about riding for cause.

“9,000 km of Silk”  is our family's charity initiative related to the journey that was supposed to happen in 2020 but was postponed to 2022 because of Coronovirus: Cyprus to Uzbekistan and back, a little over 9,000 km on a motorcycle, raising 1 euro for every kiometer travelled.

How is it possible - you might ask. Well, here is our story...

Alex is a Russian-American biker who has been residing in Cyprus for the last 7 years. 

"Motorcycle touring is one of my biggest passions in life - I have already traveled around Cyprus, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Spain and Morocco, accompanied by my beloved big touring motorcycle - “The Beast” (BMW R1100GS). 

During lockdown - while all borders were closed - I dived into Enduro. It started one sunny day in Cyprus, when I went out on a pure enduro bike, took some crazy picturesque trails that I could never imagine riding on before and…  finally felt confident enough that I could do motorsports, something I have dreamed about doing since I was in high school. Wasn’t long before I got my second sportsbike - “Q” (KTM 450 EXC-F Six Days) which accompanies me on races and rides now."

Anna  has been riding with Alex as a passenger for 5 years, when one sunny day somewhere on the way from Tangier to Fes in Morocco she decided: time has come for her to start her own riding journey. Here she is, at the beginning of 2021: riding road-motorcycles, enjoying enduro and trying herself out in motocross.
