Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

At this time, when the LIVE shared experience of music, and particularly topically carol concerts, Christmas concerts, Advent services and nativity plays are unable to take place in the traditional fashion, Harmony's Music Club is bringing you a sing along family to join our families together in a collective Christmas music celebration.  Indeed this concert has come about simply because we believe that Christmas isn't Christmas for young children and grown-ups a like without the shared experience of the nativity, singing Christmas carols and Christmas music.

Our beautiful concert takes the format of the traditional 9 Lessons and Carols.  The poems have been written especially for us by Andrea Proudlock and we are incredibly fortunate to have the wonderful Hannah Pedley (mezzo) and Liz Franklin-Kitchen (narrator) joining Caroline Page at the piano for our nativity journey.

The concert really has something for everyone - gorgeous new arrangements of favourite carols such as Away in a Manger and We 3 Kings, favourite Christmas songs like O Holy Night, and Jingle Bells, a new carol for Joseph and even a beautiful children and parents' choir to sing us out with We Wish You a Merry Christmas!

While the concert is free, we are very grateful for any donations we receive - whether or not you listen to the concert!!  Donations will be given for the 3rd Coronavirus Hardship Fund for musicians set-up by Help Musicians UK in November of this year.

Since the start of the Pandemic the music-making world, along with many other industries, has been plunged into disarray.  A horrifying number of musicians have been left with no or seriously depleted amounts of work and also have not qualified for any government support.  Christmas time is often the busiest and most financially rewarding time of year for many musicians and also embodies the spirit of music-making: coming together for a collective experience.  But this year life is far from that.  It therefore seemed only natural to raise funds through an online concert, which is only online because of the Pandemic, for the musicians who so desperately need support.  No one taking part in the concert is taking a fee so that all money can go to Help Musicians UK.

We hope you enjoy the concert!!!  All of the details are on Harmony's Music Club's Facebook Page.
