Raleigh International  brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. They are a charity that work hand in hand with the communities where they're based. The factor that I believe separates them from many volunteer organisations is their emphasis on sustainable development. This means that their actions are building for the long term. Any positive development that Raleigh achieve is specifically asked for by the community and remains long after they're gone.

I have therefore decided to run a Half Marathon from my house in Mitcham to my place of work, Nikon UK in Kingston. I am by no means a natural runner so this is a test that I fully expect to challenge me (and probably break me!).
