We are a movement of people who campaign to to end grave abuses of human rights

Story

We are a group of four students from Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design & Technology (IADT) .

Our route starts in Helsinki (Finland) and continues south from Tallinn (Estonia) to Athens (Greece) starting at the end of May 2016. The estimated distance of this route is 3300km and passing through 10 countries over roughly 40 days.
Much of this route will be along the partially realized EuroVelo 11 path.

The main aims of this trip are:

  • To raise as much money as possible for Amnesty International
  • To raise awareness of human rights issues in each country that we pass through and interview locals to expand the scope of our learning.
  • To raise awareness of alternative and active holidays for students.
  • To maintain an informative blog to cover both the methodologies and reflections necessary for others to complete a cycling trip.

We believe that the media platforms offered by this integrated project allow for wide reaching international attention for each organisation.

We aspire to establish this project as an initiative that will be carried on by future students of IADT as an annual charity event and to continue to promote sustainable tourism and healthy living.

Any support would be greatly appreciated.
