Belfast City Marathon 2014 · 5 May 2014 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I'm running the Belfast Marathon this May in memory of my granny Lilian, who passed away aged 81 last summer at the end of a long struggle with vascular dementia.

After seeing the progression of her illness and the effects it had on my family, I hope Alzheimer's Society and the research they fund will one day help develop new treatments for better improving the quality of life of other dementia sufferers.

I miss her every day and I'll remember her always.
