Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am planning to walk/jog/run 100 km in 24 hours to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity metastatic melanoma department in support of the care provided for my dad, Gavin Mailer-Howat, who suffered metastatic melanoma to the brain and lung with currently untreatable leptomeningeal disease.

The Marsden is constantly in need of funds to continue expanding life-saving research, world-leading cancer care, and trial treatments. These funds will go directly to the melanoma department's metastatic research in memory of Gavin.

The South Coast 100km is the last challenge Dad completed in 2016 after a lifetime of triathlons, marathons and mountains. I fondly remember joining him on a couple of his pacey training walks but also that the event was 'a tough one’. Please be generous...
