Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

My Daughter Ella is 6 years old and has done the Uventure run (which actually is an obstacle course a bit like tough mudder) she did the 3.5km junior run and completed it in 1 hour and 5 minutes.

She wanted to raise money for a worthwhile charity,   recently my college friend died from sepsis, after a year of battling the after-effects of Sepsis last year, she had to have both her legs and some of her fingers amputated.  She was an inspiration to many people, and will be missed very much, by many friends and family.

We would like to help raise money for the The UK Sepsis Trust, as they help to fight this life-threatening condition, stop preventable deaths and support those affected by sepsis.  Sepsis is treatable if diagnosed early.

In the UK alone, 44,000 people lose their lives to sepsis every year. This is more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined. Globally, sepsis claims 6 million lives a year.

Awareness needs to be raised within the public and medical profession.
