Myself and my friend Glen Haggon are doing a skydive to support our local hospice Willow Burn.
Willow burn is and always will be a special place to me. In 2012 my lovely dad was diagnosed with MND ( motor neurones Disease. MND is like all illnesses a very cruel one and eventually made my dad bed bound. Willow Burn offers respite care for people suffering with long term or terminal illnesses. To my surprise my dad took up the offer and went into the hospice for a week.... He was very weak, no appetite and low self esteem. They gave him red wine and cheese at 11'0clock at night. People came and told him jokes, read him poems and to massage him.
6 weeks later he returned home with a fighting spirit, full belly and mental strength and courage that amazed many. Two weeks before he died, after nearly a year in bed he was once again in a chair. This was all thanks to the physio from willow burn coming to the house.
Sadly my dad died in hospital on the 5th September 2013.
