Story

At LYR we believe sport changes lives and should be available to all, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity or otherwise. We use rowing as a tool to get young people active and learning crucial life skills, necessary for success in the classroom and workplace. Rowing offers an opportunity to enjoy sport outside of traditional school activities and nurtures qualities like determination and resilience. From Hounslow to Barking and Dagenham, our outreach programmes work with over 70 schools and around 9000 young people each year.

We will also be fundraising for the Terrence Higgins Trust. An organisation who campaigns about and provides services relating to HIV and sexual health. The charity aims to end the transmission of HIV in the UK; to support and empower people living with HIV, to eradicate stigma and discrimination around HIV, and to promote good sexual health in general.
