⛰ NATIONAL 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE ⛰
5 years ago I lost my Dad to pneumonia, aged 55. To celebrate his 60th birthday, me and my closest (Rebecca Vile and Mark Ward) are completing the national three peaks challenge to raise awareness for Kidney Research UK.
19th and 20th August 2021.
x Ben Nevis - Scotland
x Scarfell Pike - England
x Snowdon - Wales
Three countries, Three mountains...
26 miles, at 9,800 ft elevation in 24 hours (inc drive time).
Background: When I was aged two, my Dad had kidney failure of both kidneys. He was on dialysis for several months with little prospect. Fortunately a donor selflessly donated their kidney. Although transplants aren't a cure, the generosity of this person made an immeasurable difference to my Dad's life and I am forever grateful for the time I got to spend with him. This is a great cause and will help so many people, young and old.
