Story
Ok so this time last year, I couldn't swim properly, and I hate running... but I can ride a bike. I know, i thought... let's do an IRONMAN. May not be the most sensible thought process, however I do like a good challenge.
I've long had a fascination with the triathlon race, and the Ironman being the one that weirdly appeals. It's a race involving a swim of 2.4 miles (3.86 km), followed by a bike ride of 112 miles (180.25 km) and then a marathon run of 26.22 miles (42.20 km) straight afterwards.
It was a good idea at the time, however now its getting close. 21st of August and likely to take 13 hours of effort. The amount of energy burnt during the race will be similar to the amount needed for a normal week, so getting that right through the day will be crucial.
I would love your support if possible, not to hand me mars bars or pizza, (although that would be great) instead i'm looking to raise as much as i can for CLAIRE HOUSE CHILDREN'S HOSPICE. Simply put the Hospice offers care, support and choice to families whose children won’t be fortunate enough to live long enough to be adults. I know they will value every £ raised. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
