Those of you that know Aidan will know that after his early arrival in life he has had some life changing setbacks, leaving him with challenges to overcome everyday but he meets them all head on and doesn't let that stop him!
Last year he took part in The Blue Run, a 5K colour run which he totally smashed! Aidan, his walking frame, his wheelchair (and his dad) completed the circuit, got totally blue and raised lots of money for a charity close to our hearts, Stick n Step, a charity based in the northwest that Supports children and young people with cerebral palsy to be as mobile and independent as possible through intensive therapy, music and play. The centre supports the whole family and empowers children and young people to achieve their own personal potential in a positive, nurturing environment.
Just after the Blue run Aidan had some surgery on his feet which didn't quite go to plan, but his determination to do the run again this year made him get back on his feet and he smashed it again!
He is always keen to try new challenges and Stick n Step have a new sponsored event called Swim400, so called to raise awareness of the fact that one in 400 people in the UK has Cerebral Palsy. It costs around £4500 each year for each individual to attend weekly sessions and Aidan has been going for over 13 years , benefiting from the skills and expertise of all the conductors and supporting staff at the centre keeping him mobile and on his feet, something that is so very important to him. Over the next 5 weeks Aidan will swim for 400minutes for his challenge and has even bought a smart watch to track his progress !
Please sponsor Aidan if you can, its a great cause and as it's a small charity, every penny raised goes straight to them to carry on their amazing work.
