Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Al Barakah team has pledged to raise a further £10,000 this year for a hospital appeal. The heart-breaking crisis in Syria is a test for us all. Our sincere
duas and prayers are with all those who are suffering immensely.

"Spend (in charity) out of the sustenance that We have bestowed on you before that time when death will come to someone, and he shall say: "O my Lord! If only you would grant me reprieve for a little while, then I would give in charity, and be among the righteous." -The Holy Quran, 63:10

Please continue to support and DONATE generously for this much needed cause. JazakAllahu Khairun

Hand in Hand for Syria brings medical aid to people in real need. Syria’s once-proud health service has been devastated — yet Syrians have never needed it more. Besides emergency medical aid for conflict-related injuries, Hand in Hand for Syria provide access to care for patients with everyday ailments and long-term or acute conditions such as kidney failure, heart disease, asthma and malnutrition.

‘The current conflict means we’re dealing with the effects of bombs and bullets, malnutrition and exposure. But in the middle of war, people still get cancer, need dialysis and give birth. The WHO estimates that half a million children have missed out on immunisation from life-threatening diseases; in Syria’s severe winters, they also face hypothermia, pneumonia and frostbite. Many
pregnant women give birth without any antenatal, maternity or postnatal care for themselves or their babies, and yet the number of premature births has
increased dramatically. We’re doing all we can to deliver ordinary and extraordinary care; with your help, we could do more.’
