Story

So I'm competing in the Montane Spine Race in January 2018 -

Q. What is the Montane Spine Race?

A. More commonly known as Britain's most Brutal Race!  The race has a time limit of 7 days in which competitors race against each other for the full length of the Pennine Way (268 miles). It's in January so the weather could be horrendous, there's limited daylight hours, you have to be self sufficient and completely unsupported carrying mandatory safety / survival equipment, navigation is difficult. With little time to sleep and rest its a test of physical fitness, endurance and mental strength.

When? 14th of January @ 08:00hrs, Edale, Derbyshire

Why? I'm a proud Team member of Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team. My goal is to raise some more funds for the operational costs of our team. We rely solely on fundraising and donations to enable us to attend callouts 24hrs a day 365 days of the year. The team responds to 999 callouts and as most people that know us realise that we dont just rescue people off mountains we also cover the following but to name a few

  • Ambulance assists
  • Missing / vulnerable persons searches
  • Flood water response
  • Event medical support

So if you can spare a couple of quid we are grateful for any donation large or small to help us maintain our callout status.

Thanks
