I personally decided to do this for my dearest mum who passed away at home with family on the 21st of April 2014, after a hard fighting battle for nearly 11 months of multiple stokes and other associated health issues that comes with Carotid artery disease and strokes, my mum wanted any donations at the memorial service to be donated to British Heart Foundation, it raised just over £200, in which she would have been so pleased with,  I would love to see her wish and raise more funds for the British Heart Foundation in honour of my mum, who I miss with all my heart.
