Story
What's the Challenge?
My challenge is to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - which means walking around 27 miles and climbing 10,000 ft - in just 24 hours! I reckon it will take around 10 hours to drive between the mountains, leaving just 14 hours to climb and descend the 3 peaks.
This is going to mean a lot of aching bones and muscles and not a lot of sleep. But it's minor discomfort compared to what many people suffering from cancer have to endure. So please give generously to help Marie Curie continue to support these brave people.
How much difference will the donations make?
- £20 pays for a Marie Curie nurse for one hour in a patient's home
- £130 pays for a patient to attend a day therapy unit for one day in a Marie Curie hospice
- £435 pays for caring for an in-patient in a Marie Curie hospice for a day
How can I help?
I aim to raise at least £1000 by the end of February 2014, and all of this will go to Marie Curie as I will pay all the costs of the challenge myself. If I raise £1000 then my company EDF Energy will match it, doubling the funds raised for Marie Curie.
