We will do whatever it takes to help you live life as fully as you can

Story

My dad Alan has survived late-stage Thyroid Cancer since 2007, though has been back in hospital in 2015 for a total laryngectomy. My mum Pat was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2013. My father-in-law Willie was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2014. My cousin Ellie has survived Myeloma since 2014. We are an average family, luckier than many.

The Ironman 70.3 will be the hardest endurance event that I have ever attempted. In summer 2013, 210 lb (15 stone), overweight from too many Mission Burritos and long hours working at tech startups in San Francisco, I decided to make some changes. Over the last three and a half years, first through cycling, then swimming, then more recently running, I'm more than 30lb lighter, and fitter than I have ever been.

The Ironman 70.3 (the 'half Ironman') is my way of pushing myself, and at the same time giving back to a charity that has helped and supported so many people and families like mine through difficult times.

I am also very lucky. I now work as a Software Engineer for Google. They will match every pound or dollar that you sponsor me, up to $6000. So for every penny you can afford to give, Macmillan will receive two. Please help me raise as much money for Macmillan as I can. Thank you.
