Hello and calling for your support!

As some of you may know that I’m running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the 2nd April this year to raise money for small local charities that help and support my niece Rose.

Rose is 5 and has Downs Syndrome. Although this is a highly complex and sometimes tricky condition to have, Rose never lets that get in her way and she attacks everything life has to offer. In order to do some of the things all other children should experience, Rose relies on local, small charities that do great work in the local areas around where Rose lives. Without those charities like We Are Beams, Rose would not have the opportunities open to her and her family would not be given the support they need in order to help Rose with the day to day care she needs.

The Dartford based charity We Are Beams (charity number 1054129) is a parent’s support group for children with severe and complex disabilities. Originally it was for parents with a child with Downs Syndrome, but the club has been really popular and now serves parents of children with many other life-limiting disabilities.

We Are Beams Mission:
‘Our mission is to provide comprehensive support services to families of children and young people with any form of physical, learning or sensory impairment living in the Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.

We aim to support the whole family through a menu of services that directly benefit and assist those dealing with the challenges of raising a disabled child.’
