Rotary Club of Milton Keynes Swimathon · 13 March 2010

We are an award-winning Rotary club, moving forward rapidly, active in the local community, with a can-do attitude and an informal approach. Our club has the most diverse membership of any Rotary clubs in the region.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I have entered for three fundraising events.

a)   The Rotary Swimathon - This page to be held on 13/03/2010

b)   Sports Relief 3 Miles - Separate Page to be held the week after 21/03/2010

c)    Extra Mile - To be held in September (TBA)

Rotary has donated over £ 250,000 since organising the first event. This year we are donating to:

          Brooklands Centre

A day centre and social centre for older people in Newport Pagnell. We want to support the buy a brick campaign to help fund the construction of a new building.

Carers MK

Principal activity is the support of family carers and to promote the interests of carers and advance public education regarding carers in the local area. There are approximately 200 who need support.

Hope Outreach

This is a welfare relief charity aiming to bring hope and encouragement to the poor and needy of Sri Lanka and Southern India. It is run entirely by volunteers in the UK.

MacMillan Cancer Support

Well known for the all round support they provide to cancer sufferers and their families. We want to help fund their work in Milton Keynes.

MK Christian Foundation

They train young people in horticultural skills and help them to develop employability skills, self confidence and general life skills. We want to help them fund a new chicken breeding project.

MK City Orchestra

The orchestra has a programme of ‘community events and would like us to help fund the work at one of the MK schools that have children with learning and or physical difficulties.

MK Contact Centre

The centre helps contact between parents and children where safety is an issue – e.g., drink/drug problems or domestic violence. They require funds to enable them to provide more people to work at the centre.

SNAP

SNAP is based in Milton Keynes and provides work and life skills training to people over 16 with learning and physical disabilities. We want to help them to purchase some new office equipment.

Willen Hospice

We hope to be able to fund a week of care for a group of patients at the Willen Day Hospice.
