Story
Andrew was a true character. The kind of person who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. If you ever crossed paths with him, you didn’t forget it.
Best friends for nearly 30 years, from the first day of school until his tragic passing on February 19th.
Sadly we had to say goodbye way too soon.
Diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer in October, he somehow managed to stay in good spirits, and that never really changed.
Through everything that followed, Andrew showed unbelievable strength. Strength of character that makes you re-evaluate what being strong and resilient really means.
He kept his humour, his warmth, and his way of putting others at ease - even when he was the one going through it.
This May, four of us - friends who met at university in Edinburgh back in 2004 - will be returning to the city to run the half marathon in memory of our beloved friend Andrew. We hope to honour his courage, his humour, and the way he touched all our lives, while raising money for Macmillan.
Any donation, big or small, would mean a great deal. We hope the money raised can help support others facing what Andrew went through, and the people around them trying to make sense of it.
Thank you,
Alex
