Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 2 July 2016, I will be walking 100km from London to Brighton in support of Blind Veterans UK. All being well, I hope to finish this challenge in under 18 hours but let’s see what the day brings!
Blind Veterans UK give blind veterans much-needed support to adjust to sight loss, overcome the challenges of blindness and enjoy daily life. Our charity has been offering physical and emotional support to vision-impaired members of our military since 1915.
I've had the pleasure of visiting and working at their centre near Brighton, East Sussex a number of times and can say without doubt that the people I have met are nothing short of amazing. Choosing to take on this challenge for Blind Veterans UK was an easy decision.
Not everybody will be able to sponsor me but I do encourage you to check out the work that goes on at Blind Veterans UK or indeed similar charities in your own country. https://www.blindveterans.org.uk/
There are plenty of things you can do locally to help any number of charities, whether it be shopping in your local charity shop or dropping some pennies into a collecting tin. Every little bit helps.
I’ve put a lot of miles into preparing for this physically and mentally demanding challenge – any donation you make will be much appreciated but alternatively, a ‘good luck’ message will go a long way to helping me through my day! Thanks in advance. Alex
