Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

We are doing a 51-mile sponsored cycle ride on Sunday 15 September, from Bradford-on-Avon to Bristol. We are doing this in memory of George, who was born with severe quadriplegic cerebral palsy and was only 9 years old when he sadly lost his battle with cerebral palsy last year. The funds raised will go towards creating an outdoor classroom/sensory garden at Thomas Wolsey School, where George was a student.

George’s mum, Anna Hutchings, says “when George died unexpectedly in March 2012 we, his family, wanted to give something back to the fantastic Thomas Wolsey School that supported George's needs so well. It seemed very apt to create a sensory outdoor classroom for George's classmates to remember him by”.

The major feature will be replacing an entire outside wall with large folding doors, which can be opened right up allowing really easy access to get the children outside every day. With sensory planting for touch and smell, a water feature for sound and touch, wind chimes for sound and movement, soft flooring so they can be taken out of their chairs, and other features, George’s Garden will greatly improve the children’s quality of life during the school day.

We really hope you feel able to contribute a donation towards this really fantastic cause. Thank you for your support.
