Story
My dear old madre, Shazza, has had the misfortune of experiencing the ordeal of breast cancer twice in her lifetime. Through her darkest days she has been a steadfast powerhouse of a woman and an unrelenting source of hope and light. Even when times were their most desperate for her she would always support me.
My madre survived those two bouts of breast cancer. That is no mean feat and, heartbreakingly, others are not so lucky. My madre was fortunate enough to have received stellar medical care from St George's Hospital. Without the care and support of the staff there, I might not have the extra time I now have with her.
That's why I want to do my bit to help. Running has saved me in terms of my experience with depression and what better to channel that than to run the London Marathon in 2023. I'm running to raise funds to support the on-going incredible work that St George's Hospital does for breast cancer patients. Please donate and help to make sure that more sons get to have their mums for one more day.
‘Better Care, Healthier Lives’. We are the charity that exists to support St George’s hospitals and the communities they serve. Every day, our work makes a real difference to patients, their families and friends and the staff who care for them.
