Story
I wanted to let you all know that I completed the 'marathon walk' last Sunday and, thanks to your generosity, we've managed to reach and go beyond my target fundraising amount of £5,000. This is not something I'll be repeating in the future and I have to tell you that my days as an Elvis impersonator are over....my hips will never be the same again!
Seriously, Your support means a great deal to me and to the Motor Neurone Charity and I thank you all.
Here's a brief reminder about why I registered for the walk:
Rotary Charities and the Motor Neurone Disease Association are both causes which have my support, for very different reasons. Firstly, I am a Rotarian and see at first hand the good work that this organisation does both locally and internationally. Secondly, motor neurone disease has touched the life of a very good friend of mine and I'm motivated to raise funds for the fantastic work done by the Motor Neurone Association in combating this terrible disease.
So, I'm walking 26 miles (YES 26 Miles) in October of this year to raise funds for these causes - 25% will to go Rotary Charities and 75% to Motor Neurone. The event in which I'm participating is 'Walk The Test Way' www.walkthetestway.org.uk
Sadly, before the walk was completed, the lady who had contracted this terrible disease passed away but she was aware of the efforts made by so many to raise funds to help the Motor Neurone Disease Charity and she was extremely grateful.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
Thanks again to all who have already made a donation and, to those who may have forgotten, this page will remain open a little longer for you to do so if you wish.
Thank you,
Sandy
