Story
Back in 2012, my wife Belinda was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 47. She is part of shocking statistic that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and a small number of men will also be diagnosed. For the UK that means over 50,000 people diagnosed per year of which 1,000 per month will die from the disease.
Belinda went through two operations, chemo and radio therapy and remains on drugs every day. She is one of the lucky ones.
She founded Art for Cure a few years ago to raise money for vital national breast cancer research and to help deliver better care and support to those undergoing a Breast Cancer diagnosis.Through hosting sales of art and sculpture, she has now raised over £500,000 having hosted the largest sale of art, sculpture and photography outside London in May this year.
This bike ride is 450 km from Saigon on Angkor Wat through the backwaters and plantations of the Mekong Delta to the dry lands of Cambodia. Temperatures in the low 30's and 85% humidity will make this an uncomfortable journey so the training in Suffolk may struggle to match the conditions we are expecting to encounter!
A massive thank you for your support.
