The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we’re moving further and faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. A cure really can’t wait

Story

I am taking part in the Thames Bridges Trek on September 10th. I will be walking with my friend Nicole over 26km and 16 bridges to raise money for our charities.

I am walking in memory of my dad on what would have been his 64th birthday. My dad sadly passed away in 2018 after a short battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer - Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM).

Please help me raise as much money to support The Brain Tumour Charity. Over £500 million is spent in the UK on cancer research, yet less than 2% is spent on brain tumours. Glioblastomas primarily affect adults aged between 45 and 75 and are more common in men than women. Glioblastomas are aggressive tumours and often appear resistant to treatment. The average survival time is 12-18 months with 20% of patients surviving more than 1 year and only 3% surviving more than 3 years.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. We're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And were doing it right now. Because we understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
