Story
Many thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research in memory of my amazing Dad, Edwin, who sadly passed away after a heart attack in January. This came as a complete shock to all of us and in circumstances where, if the hospital had diagnosed him correctly on his initial visit, he may still have been here. I miss him every minute of every day and I would like to raise as much money as possible for research and training to help save other families from suffering such a devasting loss.
I found a photo on Dad’s phone of me after finishing the Great North Run in 2007. I had no idea he had the photo or that he kept it so close to him. It seems fitting that I run the race again, for the first time since 2007, for him. As many of you know, I have only recently taken up running again after a gap of 10 years and the Great North Run will be a challenge but one that I am proud to take on for my Dad.
I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Many thanks!
