Story
I've finally retired. Phew! 5 hours, 34 Minutes, 12 Seconds. 3 minutes faster than my previous 2 marathons (the times of which only differed by 1 second).
So that's it, my 3rd and final marathon is complete. My wash in / wash out temporary ginger hair dye began to run in the rain before the race had even started and I spent the first 4 miles with a Waitrose carrier bag over my head and the next 11 miles using tissues and water to wipe ginger dye off of my face. Eventually the hair dye dryed in the sun and I was able to run without worrying about glowing orange! It was another hard but enjoyable marathon and as I passed the finish line I breathed a long sigh of relief.
What next? Well, I have the moonwalk in 3 weeks time and I'm hoping that walking a marathon throughout the night in a bra rather than running one will be easier. Hmmm, but I'm starting to wonder if that really is the case....... what was I thinking of?!!!!!
Thanks to you all of you who have supported and sponsored me over the past 3 years. Your generousity has been oustanding and vital in helping me to run over 78 miles. I'm really looking forward to being 'one of the crowd' next year.
