We provide shelter through the winter to alleviate homelessness in South London

Story

We have done this every year since 2012, to see what it would be like living on the streets and sleeping rough. Fortunately, we get coffee and biscuits, but many people don't. We are sleeping out to raise money for Robes, a charity which opens the doors of churches to the less fortunate and gives them food and shelter.

As you may know, the official Sleepout at Southwark Cathedral was cancelled following the terrorist attack on nearby London Bridge on 29th November.

However, the hardy youth of All Saints', and the youth group leaders, are planning a SLEEP-IN on Friday 14th February 2020.

The group will spend the night on the floor in All Saints' church, making friends with the mice! They will then attend a special service early on Saturday morning.

So thank you again for your support and generous donations. We've raised our target because although so many friends had already been very generous, we know that Robes' fundraising was affected by the cancellation of the Sleepout, so we're hoping that we can raise some more!

The Robes Project provides a volunteer led Winter Night Shelter for those experiencing homelessness in Southwark and Lambeth. We give guests advice, guidance and floating support. In partnership with our guests, we work with them to access long term accommodation and be able to sustain it.
